Assassins Creed IV Black Flag Gamer Review

Assassins Creed IV Black Flag is at last finally out.

We no longer need to wait for the epic, thought-out story line. My experience with the game has been quiet outstanding. The new free roam perspective as a pirate is one of the coolest things I believe I have ever seen in video game history. There were times when I thought back at Assassins Creed one and was amazed at how tremendously far this game has come. Assassins creed IV makes you want to explore and be a bad ass pirate and makes you want to prove to the Assassins Creed Community that you really are a bad ass pirate. But like most games it has it’s up and down. Luckily the downs are so mild that this game is almost tuned to perfection.

What’s funny is Assassins Creed IV came out a lot earlier then it was supposedly expected. I personally have not found a reason for why it came out so early but I truly believe it was a bad idea. I have noticed that the game is a bit buggy. The game freezes for a long time for a scene to start or when i try to jump off a fence but only jump in the air and land back on the fence.... It’s kind of amusing but somewhat irritating as to when you are being shot at. Oddly enough that is pretty much the only dislike I have encountered about the game. And I’m sure a quick patch could fix things write up right away.

The fact that you get to own your own ship in this game is amazing. The free roam is simply blissful as something always catches your attention in the scenery. It could be from a treasure chest on a small island, to a water spout coming up out your boat. There is always something to freak out about in the game, and yes there is always something to run like hell from. There are a lot of islands to explore and yes they kept the hunting! There is anything from turtles to cheetahs to Hammer head sharks.

Hunting for sea creatures is a lot of fun. As you are sailing across the sea in your gallant ship of awesomeness, you will find places in the sea that are all white. That means a creature you can hunt is available in that area. Once you begin the hunt you will be in a small boat with a spear. The spear has a rope tied to it as it is tied onto the boat. When you aim and hit the creature with the spear it will start swimming off dragging the boat with it. At this point you aim and throw the spears until you have killed it. Animals and creatures can be skinned and then used to craft new items like gun holders and armored padding.

Free roaming at sea is simply epic. The weather can change at any time and give you a challenge to get out alive. I have seen water spouts take down ships and a Lightning strike blow a ship to smithereens! Water spouts are the most dangerous thing to worry about as they will suck in your ship and do a lot of devastating damage. There awesome and fun until you realize that they are programmed to follow and come after you. Also the weather has no time limit. I have had storms last from a minute to ten minutes. I am truly amazed at what they have done with this series.

Much like assassins creed 3, there still are bunkers. You can use your ship to attack these bunkers and eventually take them over. The bunkers will have a certain amount of towers that will shoot cannons at you. When you knock them down you then have to bored your ship to the bunker and find the commanding officer and kill him. Once he is dead you then own the bunker. There are two benefits to owning the bunkers. One is that it allows you to see all the treasure in that section of the sea and also your bunker will attack other ships for you. So when you come back you will see a lot of supplies floating around that you can pick up. This game is worth every penny in my opinion, and as you think you can beat it in a day...think again. Try a week!

The story of Conner Kenway is a fairly decent story. Conner left his home to become a pirate and get rich as he becomes a ship wrecked pirate that got stranded on the island with a ship wrecked assassin. Conner then kills the assassin and takes his clothes. He then reads a letter that leads him on his epic journey. Only you can make up what that journey is. I am going to rate this game 9 out of 10! Because it is outstanding in every aspect. I recommend Assassins Creed Black Flag to anyone!
